  1. Lido's instincts were good..Legacy has grown into a fine horse. I stopped the other day to walk the pastures and break ice, it was cold and blowing, and the neighbors were rabbit hunting, Charlie and Betty Jean had joined them, the doggs were running hot west of the bean field behind the tack shed..As I walked back, Bear Coat, Legacy and Wind in His Hair walked to me for the scratching they knew was available..While I stood there with them, the hunters and dogs broke brush and the horses alerted...I shushed at them but they stayed keyed up, Legacy with his fine features and inward hooking ears, and Bear Coat with his strong solid head, towered over me...beautiful creatures. The both wheeled simultaneously and galloped down the hill to the rest of the herd. Wind stood there and took his scratching, unconcerned about what those silly little dogs were doing. Wind is not one to throw away a goos scratching frivolously. -Lloyd
