He Really Did Not Object Too Much

El Rosio arrived Monday. Wore a saddle pad Wednesday and took to the saddle yesterday.

Today I will give him his first serious round pen session.

  1. Folks...put the concept of the wild unruly mustang out of your mind..most of them are not..oh, sure, there are a few exceptions, You get the odd one who is extremely anxious, such as our little bucket of dynamite, Red Feather, By and large, all of the mustangs I have seen or even heard about being handled, gentled and trained, have been fairly gentle and teachable. by natural methods.
I believe that is key..By natural methods. I would be willing to bet my Senator's next paycheck that the reputaion of mustangs being wild and difficult to tame comes directly from the backwards ideas of hte last couple of centuries..Breaking horses through fear and robbing them of hteir spirit..Fuhgedduhboudit..it just ain't so.
El Rosio seems a light and energetic horse..very curious about his surroundings...It will be alot of fun to watch Steve and Kelly gentle and train him. I bet he is smart as a whip too..-Lloyd
