We have had wild mares with similar neck wounds turn up. When these horses chase pigs they put their heads down and snake the pigs before trying to stomp them. It puts them at perfect level for a sow to strike at a horse threatening her little ones. There are likely more wild hogs than horses on the small area where the wild Corollas live. Edward is owned by one of my adult riders, receives a great deal of love and is regularly ridden.
